Martin joined J. Walter Thompson in 1985, initially working in the agency’s Information Centre. He joined the New Business Department a year later and worked his way up, ultimately becoming New Business Director in 1991.
He left JWT in 1997 to join AAR as Managing Director and, over the last seventeen years, Martin has worked on over 800 pitches and seen more than 4,000 pitch presentations. He has assisted clients as diverse as John Lewis, Smart Energy, Alzheimer’s Society, Addison Lee, KFC and Halfords advising them on the most appropriate agencies for their needs and working with them throughout the pitch process.
Martin works with agencies advising them on their new business efforts and leads AAR’s Business Development Apprenticeship, helping those who are new to new business to build their skills and experience.
