Martin joined J. Walter Thompson in 1985, initially working in the agency’s Information Centre. He joined the New Business Department a year later and worked his way up, ultimately becoming New Business Director in 1991.
He left JWT (now WundermanThompson) in 1997 to join AAR and, over the last twenty five years has worked on over 1,000 pitches and seen more than 4,000 presentations. During this time he has assisted clients ranging from traditional brands such as DFS, KFC, Lucozade and Virgin Media to start up businesses including Gousto, Motorway and Wealthify, initially advising them on the most appropriate agencies for their needs and then working closely with them throughout the pitch process.
Martin works with agencies advising them on their new business efforts and leads AAR’s Business Development Apprenticeship, helping those who are new to new business to build their skills and experience.
