We worked with Virgin Media in February/March 2019. They had recently rebranded and had a new purpose and were keen to appoint an agency who could be part of their team and help relaunch the brand to consumers in June 2019. This meant that we needed to not only use the pitch programme to find a long term partner, but also to produce a campaign that could run with minimal tweaking.

Key to the success of the process was ensuring that stakeholders at every level were involved in the process, and diaries notwithstanding, the Virgin Media team made themselves available for as many meetings as was possible. Ultimately they saw three very impressive presentations from Adam&Eve.DDB, Havas London and Wonderhood Studios, with A&E/DDB coming out on top.

Commenting on the review Amy Gilbert, Head of Advertising at Virgin Media, said:

“Martin & the AAR team understood our needs from the beginning and shaped a pitch process to ensure we would find the perfect agency partner for us. AAR’s industry expertise was invaluable. It gave us confidence that we were shortlisting agencies that were right for us and, coupled with their logistics and project management, allowed us to run the pitch process within demanding timelines. AAR were able to guide us through the process, ensuring we were engaging the right stakeholders at the right time. They didn’t influence our decision but kept us honest throughout and ensured we stayed true to our original objectives. The emphasis was not on completing the process within the time but absolutely on finding the right long term partner for us. Put quite simply, I don’t believe we could have done it without AAR! Thank you!”
